Here are some fun facts:

:bulletblue: I just found out that my camera was capable of such shots.
:bulletblue: Yesterday I took photos of just water.
:bulletblue: Before today and yesterday, I had never attempted a shot like this.
:bulletblue: Aside from the water on the lens that is smack dab in the middle, I am very pleased with the outcome. I mean hell, this is my second try, first time using an object.

Also, I used the flash attached to my camera.
I really need to learn some lighting techniques because my house isn't well lit. :(

No editing whatsoever. :)

I wish the grapefruit was a bit darker though, oh well.

Comments are appreciated... thanks! :)

yeah dSLR aren't always the best, unless you spend a fortune on equipment, some of my best macro shoots were taken with a sony point and click

great shot by the way

Very cool shot. I guess the only thing I could say about it other then how much I like the shot and it was a really cool capture, is that I'm not sure I like the silver background against the pinkish color of the fruit. Other then that, i love it!! ^-^ I always love seeing the different ways people use water in their photography.

Awesome! I always love photos of water suspended in the air - it's just so cool. I can't really explain why I like it, but I sure do. Great job with this one!

Unique shot. The droplets as the focal point over the fruit is a nice touch.

I love that the background is that gunmetal gray color. It makes the colors of the grapefruit all the more vibrant. This is lovely.

...I love grapefruit.

This one caught my eye because I've been wanting to try some water shots like this, and from what I've read, a macro lens and extarnal flash would be advisable, but now you say you did this with a point and shoot, I'm impressed! Like Ken Rockwell said Maybe because it's entirely an artist's eye, patience and skill that makes an image and not his tools. [...]You need to learn to see and compose. The more time you waste worrying about your equipment the less time you'll have to put into creating great images. Worry about your images, not your equipment.;)

wow, for a second try that looks very good :) Impressed.
But, yes, It's not original at all... :(
Perhaps, You can try this with different objects, or even better - with humans... I mean, you can take a portrait or something like that with this kind of a water drops... :)
But, as I said, nice shot :)

Nice photo for a P+S, but you can never replace a DSLR. The focusing would've been more accurate with a DSLR ;)
rareazn Featured By Owner Mar 13, 2009
